Most people think that chiropractic is a treatment for neck and back pain. It does help neck and back pain but the main purpose of chiropractic is to enable the nervous system to function at its peak potential.
The nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) controls and regulates all the other systems in the body, such as the digestive system, the cardiovascular system, and the immune system.
Keeping the spine in line makes all the spinal nerves work properly, and the result is better health, more happiness, better concentration, more level headedness, and more energy. In short, keeping the spine in line will give you more enjoyment out of life.
A chiropractor gives you an "adjustment" to remove "subluxations". A subluxation is a back bone or neck bone that is not in the correct position. An adjustment is when the chiropractor applies a gentle thrust into the spine to remove or reduce the subluxation.
A subluxation occurs when the spine is subjected to a force that is more than it can handle. A chiropractic adjustment is when the chiropractor moves the back or neck bones in a certain way to correct a malfunctioning disc. Medical doctors call it a slipped disc, but that's the same thing as a subluxation.
Chiropractic care allows the muscles, joints, and ligaments to heal faster after an injury so that acute pain subsides as fast as possible. Chronic pain can also be eliminated or at least decreased in intensity and frequency. Chiropractic care also improves overall health by enabling the nerves to carry vital messages to the various organs.
Massotherapy can also relieve acute and chronic pain.
If chiropractic and massage don't resolve the pain, exercise counseling will help (providing that the patient follows ALL home exercise instructions.
Our team is board certified and highly educated, ensuring you get the best results from qualified professionals. We take our practice seriously, and it shows in our mastering of chiropractic techniques, massage techniques, and exercise counseling.
