Affordable Drug-free Care

Chiropractic is the largest drug free healing art in the world.  Chiropractors don't add anything to the body, like medicine, nor do we remove things from the body, as in surgery.

Chiropractic adjustments make the spinal nerves work better.  Spinal nerves carry electrical signals from the brain down to your organs to tell them how fast or slow to function.  Disease comes form an organ working too fast or slow.  For example, heartburn comes from the stomach glands producing too much hydrochloric acid.  On the other hand, indigestion and constipation arise if the stomach is not producing enough acid.

Spinal nerves also carry signals from nerve endings in the body up to the brain.  This allows the brain to know what is happening in the body so it can alter the speed of function of the various organs.  For example, if you go outside in the winter the nerve endings in the skin tell the brain that the  temperature outside the body has dropped.  Then the brain reacts and tells the heart to beat faster to pump more warming blood into the body.  The brain tells the  blood vessels near the skin to constrict so there is less heat loss. The brain tells the liver to release blood sugar so the body has more fuel to burn.  This keeps your internal temperature at a constant 98.5 degrees, the optimal temperature for good health.

Massage therapy reduces stress.  Stress has been shown to cause heart attacks, strokes, headaches, ulcers and many other diseases.

Adhesions, or scar tissue,  form in muscles or tendons to repair microscopic tears caused by heavy lifting or other trauma such as a sudden unexpected contraction of a muscle when tying not to fall after a slip on the ice.  The scar tissue has jagged edges that irritates a muscle resulting in muscle spasms or soreness.  Massotherapy breaks down scar tissue after it is no longer needed.

Exercise counseling  helps joints and muscles feel better.  Many aches and pains come from weak muscles.  For example, low back pain can be resolved by strengthening the core muscles by jogging, using a step machine, doing sit-ups, or other strengthening exercises.  Dr. Rick can provide strategies to strengthen various muscles.

Adhesions or scar tissue as described above can also come from not stretching a muscle on a regular basis.  Dr. Rick can teach yoga poses that break down unnecessary scar tissue.  Stretching also increases joint flexibility.   A flexible joint is a pain free, healthy joint.

HEALTH Insurance POLICY

We accept assignment on all insurances.
This means that we will send a claim to your insurance company. After the insurance company processes our claim, we will bill you for your deductible and co-payment responsibilities.

Deductible:     A deductible is an annual amount that you have to pay before the insurance company will pay.

If you have a very high deductible  you may not reach it this year so it would be to your advantage to take the no-paperwork-discount and only pay $25 for the chiropractic adjustment.  (After we send a claim  to your insurance, you are responsible for the full fee of $45.)

Co-payment:
A co-payment is a set amount that you have to pay for each doctor visit.

If your co-payment is more than $25 it would be to your advantage to take the no-paperwork-
discount and pay $25 for the chiropractic treatment. (After we send a claim to your insurance, you are responsible for the full fee of $45.)

Allowable amount: If we are on the insurance company network, we have to accept their allowed amount for treatment as the only amount we can bill.  (This decreases the amount due from $45 to the allowable amount.)

You may wish to call your insurance company to ask about  your deductible, co-payment, and their allowable amounts.
